Rebecca Rubin
Hi! I wonder whether some of you have a preference between Rebecca and Samantha! See poll to the right and vote!!
I can't choose which one I like better... both are so adorable and cute! I like Rebecca's face mold better, but Sam's hair is better to manage.

Sorry these are sideways, but I forgot to take the pictures right side up. :) heeheehee
These are some of the paper dolls we have... we have every girl of the year except for Lindsey and Kailey. They're all 18 inches tall, too.

Now these are only two to eight inches tall. All together we
have over 5oo of the paper dolls, some dating back to 2001. About half are historical characters and accessories and half are the Just Like You and Girl of the Year. Here's a shot of some of our favorites:

My two ultra favorites are Sonali:

Play value/historiacl accuracy & blog name
The reason I named the blog what it is is becasue I have several friends who are fans of American Girl Doll and own dolls, and we get together with to play dolls, discuss AG things, etc. and if we had a name for ourselves, I would call us the Tennessee American Girl Doll Fan Society, even though some of the members live in other states!! It's TAGS for short.
Do you care more about historical accuracy or play value in what you purchase from American Girl?
I think it depends on two things:
(1. If you prefer the historical characters or Just Like You dolls
and
(2.How old you are.

Delay...
My computer is not letting me upload the pictures of the dolls... maybe they'll be up by next week, my birthday!!
Julie
Here's my review of the Julie Mystery, The Tangled Web.
Julie Albright meets Carla Warner in school. Carla is friendly, has an awesome voice, and tells about her large, happy family. Eventually, everything sounds right, but some of the things Carla says don't add up. Like when she is on the swings with Julie at recess, Carla points out a smaller girl playing in the sand and calls to her, telling Julie that the little girl is her sister. But the girl doesn't respond. And later, when Julie's older sister Tracy researches Carla's older brother's supposed school, she finds that it doesn't exist. Julie keeps coming accross things like this, and gets angry, deciding to try to solve the mystery. One time Julie goes to the house that Carla said was hers, but it turns out it's only the place of the person she walks dogs for.
All in all, Megan and I thought the book was good, one of the best American Girl mysteries, but it has a predictable ending, which you'll have to read for yourself!
One of the girls I know little sister got the Julie dolls recently. Megan and Hannah went over to her house and saw the doll, and said she (the doll) was very cute. But... I've seen other pictures of Julie, and she had nasty-looking hair in those, like the dog chewed on it. Does Julie's hair really get matty and fall out if you comb it a lot?? Iwant to know because I want to know whether she's worth saving up for.:)
Also, I hear that the next American Girl movie will be about Julie, in the form of a musical. I kind of wish AG would do a film about one of the characters that has been around for a while, and not just the recent ones, like Kit and Chrissa. I think Addy would make a neat movie.
I wonder if Julie will make it as a musical... would people really like to listen to 70's music? I know I think music from the 70's is highly annoying! Will it be released in theaters or just on Disney Channel or Hallmark?? When is it coming out? I wish I knew! I can't wait to see what Ivy looks like!

First Post!!
Hi! I'm Kirsten and I'm a huge American Girl Doll fan. My sisters and I have read lots of American Girl Doll fan pages and blogs and thought it would be fun to create out own! Here's some about us:
We are homeschooled Christian girls, ages thirteen, twelve and seven.
Our American Girl dolls:
Elizabeth, Chrissa, and Emily.
My birthday is coming up really soon, so I'll probably get Kirsten for my gift and Sonali with my own funds:)
Ever since we were little and before we had dolls, we'd cut out the pictures of the dolls in the AG catalogs and play with them like paper dolls. It was so much fun! (We still do it)
On Christmas 2006, I got Elizabeth. The next year, Megan got Emily. The next year, I got a Just Like You doll I named Abigail. Then this year I donated her to a thrift store. For some reason she just didn't "click" with me. Also, I sold a bunch of accessories that I never used and was able to purchase Chrissa!
Now that I've probably bored you out of your gourd, here's a question Megan and I have been kind of debating over since Samantha was retired. (that was TRAGIC when AG retired Samantha!!) I think that even though American Girl retired Sam, they'll bring her back. She was one of their most popular dolls! I bet it was just an advertising ploy to get people to buy her items before the holidays. Megan, however, thinks that they had to reitire her to make room for Rebecca, 1914. What do you think about the whole Samantha thing???
Tomorrow, I will try to upload a picture of the dolls. I'm still learning about blogging!
